General comments
Cefuroxim en ceftriaxon alleen bij niet IgE-gemedieerde penicillineallergie. Bij IgE-gemedieerde penicillineallergie (bijv. anafylaxie) en intraveneuze therapie is aangewezen: ciprofloxacine iv 400 mg 2dd.
Azitromycine of doxycycline: bij bewezen gevoeligheid. Wanneer vanaf dag 1 oraal behandeld kan worden (bij penicillineallergie) en de gevoeligheid van de pneumokok is dus nog niet bekend: ciprofloxacine po 500 mg 2dd.
